Martha is passionate about preserving and restoring our planet because all life depends on it. We can no longer live as if the earth is just one giant resource for humans to exploit and plunder. We risk not only endangering the existence of countless life forms, but also our own existence. We must come to the understanding that rather than being separate from nature, we are an integral part of it. Through education and awareness, we can begin the process of change, beginning with ourselves and working outward towards our friends, family, colleagues, communities and the world. Following awareness is taking action with the consciousness that every decision we make has an impact on the rest of the world. Food is our most intimate connection with the universe, so it's a great place to start.

Martha Ma is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a member of the American Association for Drugless Practitioners. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from New York University.
